Students in 2nd Grade learn about the works of Leonardo da Vinci with a special visit from the artist himself!
The Governing Council of Pierre Bottineau French Immersion School submits a formal letter to Minneapolis Public Schools requesting to merge with Cityview School of Innovation for the 2015-2016 school year. The Council believes the merge will allow for greater support for the school and will lead the way for strong expansion in the future.
Students in our 4th and 5th grade learn about Radio broadcasting at the Pavek Museum. Students were able to participate in a small competition and host their own radio show.
The Pierre Bottineau French Immersion School Governing Council hosted a Family Information Night to gather information relative to the possible merging of our school with another school in Minneapolis. Over 75 people attended the event. The overwhelming consensus was to request a merge with Cityview for the 2015-2016 school year.
Two members of General Mills' French Conversation Group visit our school to donate school supplies and winter clothes. Our guests meet with students, tour classrooms, and pose for a picture. Behind the group is our French Winter Word Wall in which students drew pictures of different French vocabulary words about winter.
Students in our 3rd grade class visited the Breadsmith in Edina. Students learned about the bread-making process and made their own loaves to take home. Above, students pose with their creations; below students display their delicious samples.
Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades have the opportunity to earn the privilege of joining our school safety patrol. Our students support each other on the playground, in the cafeteria, and during transitions.
Children in Mme Adabra's class learn about patterns, colors, and counting through the use of math manipulatives.
Pierre Bottineau French Immersion School took a bold step today as we condensed classrooms to open personnel resources and ultimately support our learners. Now three individuals are available to support instruction in classrooms thus providing the opportunity for greater differentiation based on student need. The three staff are: Mme Johnson - AE French Bilingual, Mme Skoog - AE French Bilingual, and M. Sowah - Intervention Teacher.
